Tahini, Honey & Cinnamon Spread – Tahinomelo

I have a serious thing for tahini. Tahini for me is one of the best condiments since sliced bread and this recipe allows you to turn tahini into a spread that’s perfect for spreading on, well, sliced bread. If you love nut butters then you should give this recipe a go as it’s just as creamy, delicious and takes next to no time at all to whip up.

Made up of just three ingredients, this spread is easy and super versatile; drizzle it on top of yoghurt, fruit, bread or bake with it by trying your hand at Tahinopittes, or Cypriot Tahini Rolls. This is a popular spread in Cyprus, Greece where it is called Tahinomelo and the Middle East. The flavour of this will vary depending on what honey you use, so experiment with fruity, floral, rich or citrusy tasting honey varieties.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup tahini, stirred well

  • 1/2 cup honey,

  • 1/4 tsp ground cinnamon

  • 1/4 tsp fine sea salt (optional)

Directions

  • Combine all ingredients in a bowl and mix to combine.
  • Store in an airtight container in a cool, dark place.
